This website is an online presentation of my work in the field of Advertising and Direct Marketing. On this site, you will find samples of my work which express my creative vision and diversity. With a career spanning over twenty-five years, I have had the privilege of working with some of the best Fortune 500 companies such as Capital One Hispanic Line of Business, Walt Disney Productions, Ford Motor Company, Subway Restaurants and Rexall-Sundown Vitamins. In addition to these companies, I worked on regional accounts like Asheville CVB, NC Brunswick Islands, Wilson Memorial Hospital in North Carolina. In early 2000, I was awarded two regional district Addy Awards for my work on Asheville North Carolina CVB tourism ads and the Wilson Memorial Hospital’s annual report.
In October 1997, at the recommendation of a colleague, I decided to start up a freelance design business called MP Designworks. As a freelancer, I was contracted by local and national ad agencies, design studios, publishers, retailers, and manufacturers to design and produce print ads, brochures, catalogs, sell sheets, p.o.p. displays, presentation materials, packages/labels, slide presentations, illustrations, photography, posters, corporate identities and websites. During that time, I was also hired by local talent agencies to work on temporary design assignment.
A year later, I accepted a position with a small, fast-paced ad agency in Fayetteville, North Carolina called Smith Advertising as their Creative Director. At SA&A, I handled several local accounts which included Asheville CVB, NC Brunswick Islands and Wilson Memorial Hospital. Shortly after leaving SA&A, I moved north to Chapel Hill and started freelancing again. I picked up a few new accounts in Chapel Hill, while still servicing my clients back in Florida.
My contacts led me to another Creative Director position with a medium sized firm in Raleigh-Durham called MarketSmart Advertising. There I worked on several local and national accounts like Goodyear Tires and Subway Restaurants. I also worked on a political ad campaign that helped pass new bond referendums for Wake County in the 2000 elections. My success on the Wake County Bonds project helped MarketSmart land future public service projects for the county.
In 2001, I moved back to Florida and was offered a contract position with Capital One in Tampa as a Financial Design Consultant. At Capital One, I provide creative lift for the Hispanic Line of Business by implementing new creative strategies to direct mail solicitations aimed at Hispanics consumers. From there, my contacts lead me to another Creative Director position with a boutique agency in Tampa called AdSource. At AdSource, I developed my skills by writing and directing local radio & cable television spots for automotive dealer groups in the Hillsborough county area.
In early 2004, I moved to the Fort Myers area and focused my efforts on promoting my freelance business while pursuing my passion of photography. Soon after, I landed a huge freelance opportunity with WCI Communities in Bonita Beach, FL. In addition to WCI, I picked up a few more local accounts that kept me pretty busy and grounded to Fort Myers area for the next decade. In 2013, I moved back to South Florida where it all began. I continued working freelance while providing creative lift for a local design firm on a contract basis. I also had the privilege to work for the Florida Lottery as a Lottery Marketing Specialist.
Fast-forward to today: I have recently moved to the beautiful state of Georgia and searching for new career opportunities in the Atlanta Metro market. I am currently freelancing while focusing my efforts into learning more about the future of advertising like interactive design, web, multimedia and digital imaging. Who knows what the future will bring? For now, I adapt, learn and push forward.
